About Us

Open To The Skies

Dear Concert Supporter,

The current situation in Ukraine has inevitably made us reappraise our plans for 'Open to the Skies’, scheduled for Sunday 24th July. Not knowing how things might unfold over the coming months, very sadly we have had to take the tough decision to cancel the event. Not only do we feel promotion of a concert with such strong military associations would be inappropriate in the present climate but also, mindful of their other priorities, it would be hard to guarantee availability of performers, drawn from service personnel, for July.

No doubt you will share our disappointment in having to cancel the concert - particularly after our original plans to stage it in 2021 had to be rethought due to the pandemic. I am sure you will understand, though, that taking this decision sooner rather than later is ultimately in everyone’s best interests. Hopefully, you won’t be too inconvenienced by the cancellation. Arrangements are in hand for our ticketing partner Patriot Experiences to refund your ticket purchase directly to your account; and this process will commence in the week beginning 15th March. We anticipate that it will take four weeks to complete the entire process. We very much appreciate your patience. However, should you experience any issues obtaining a refund, please do not hesitate to contact me at visit@opentotheskies.co.uk

Thank you so much for the interest you expressed in Open to the Skies and its fund-raising mission. It is such a great shame that we are now unable to support our selected military and local Wiltshire charities as we had hoped. If, however, you might still wish to help with the various charities' wonderful work, by donating to a cause directly, their names appear at the foot of this letter. Finally, I am pleased to inform you that there will still be the chance for you to enjoy an evening of outdoor, live music at Bowood House & Gardens this July as the Classic Ibiza concerts lined-up for Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd will proceed as planned - more details on these events can be found at www.classicibiza.co.uk/bowood

We have been advised by PayPal of a technical issue in processing credits to individual accounts, and some clients have received letters which are leading to confusion and worry. Our ticket partner Patriot Experiences will be sending an email to everyone who has had an email from PayPal which we trust will reassure you that your credit is being actioned and that your money is safe. We apologise for the delay in processing your credit.

Kind regards

The Central Band of the RAF

The Central Band of the Royal Air Force was established in 1920 and since its formation has played an integral and unique role in military life and in the musical world. In 1922 they were the first military band to broadcast on the BBC. They play a vital part in State Ceremonial events, as well as performing across the United Kingdom in support of Service charities and Military Tattoos.
